PIKES PEAK JUNIOR GOLF SCHOLARSHIP

THE SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship is sponsored by P.G.A. Golf Professionals in the Pikes Peak region and Southern Colorado. The annual scholarship will be awarded to an individual beginning his/her first year of college.
PURPOSE
The purpose of the Pikes Peak Junior Golf scholarship is to encourage and promote higher educational goals for the junior golfers who are active in the annual Pikes Peak Junior Golf Tournament Program and have demonstrated a high level of academic and extracurricular achievements during high school.
ELIGIBILITY
The applicant must have been a participant in the Pikes Peak Junior Golf Tournament Program for at least two years.
The applicant must have graduated from High School during the scholarship year, with the intention of enrolling in or have been accepted by an accredited college or university offering a course of study leading to a traditional Baccalaureate degree.
The applicant must provide:
- High School transcripts and attendance records
- Most current ACT or SAT scores
- A copy of a letter of acceptance to the college or university of his/her choice
The applicant must provide a letter of recommendation from the following:
- A member of the P.G.A. of America
- The high school golf coach or student counselor
The applicant must provide a typed letter expressing the importance of golf in their personal life and explain their future plans in college and with golf.
SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION
The applicant must apply by using the Pikes Peak Junior Golf scholarship application form. Applications are available from area golf professionals, from the Director of the Pikes Peak Junior Golf Program, and are available via download below. An incomplete application will not be eligible for consideration. The deadline for submitting an application is July 1.

SELECTION OF A WINNER
The recipient of the scholarship will be determined by a Selection Committee made up of Head Golf Professionals and/or other appointees from Clubs within the Pikes Peak Region. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of using a combination of the following criteria:
- High school grades
- Class rank
- ACT or SAT scores
- Participation in the Pikes Peak Junior Golf Program
- Extracurricular activities
From all applications, five (5) candidates will be selected to meet the Selection Committee for an oral interview, to be held in July at the Patty Jewett clubhouse - you will be contacted when the date and time of interviews is established. The scholarship will be awarded at the conclusion of the Pikes Peak Junior Golf Championship.
General Instructions
Only individuals that graduated or will graduate in the current calander year may apply for the Pikes Peak Junior Golf Scholarship.
Complete the application form in its entirety by typing or legibly printing all information.
Submit copies of all required documents, letters, and statements. If the applicant has not been officially accepted at a college or university at the time of application, make reference to that fact and send a copy of the letter of acceptance when it is received.
